Sibyl Allen RIP It is with sorrow that we would like to inform you that Sibyl Allen who has served St Martin-in-the-Fields for so many years with such dedication and faithfulness passed peacefully and prayerfully away in her own home on Tuesday 12 June. Details of her funeral which will be held at St Martin-in-the-Fields will be given as soon as they are confirmed and all will be very welcome to attend as we give thanks for her remarkable life. Please keep her son Martin and all her family in your prayers during this time of loss.

Today/Inspired to Follow: Art and the Bible Story 12:00pm in the Austen Williams Room. The last in our current series, looking at Fra Angelico’s glorious painting of ‘Christ Glorified in the Court of Heaven’ and reflecting on the New Jerusalem. The last session with Alastair McKay before he leaves us, with the usual opportunity to engage with a National Gallery painting, Biblical story and a theological reflection, in conversation with others.

This week/Bread for the World, Wednesday 20 June at 6.30pm. Everyone is welcome at our informal Eucharist, a service with prayer, music, word and reflection, followed by food and fellowship.

A Memorial Eucharist for Dorothy Cone will be held at St Martin-in-the Fields on Wednesday 27 June at 1.00pm followed by a reception in St Martin’s Hall. All those who would like to give thanks for her life are welcome. As Dorothy had no immediate next of kin the arrangements for her funeral have still not yet been confirmed but we will give details as soon as they are known.

Alastair McKay – Alastair is coming to the end of his three-year half-time curacy with us. We are glad for what he’s given us and wish him every blessing for his future. If you would like to contribute to a leaving gift for Alastair please leave a donation with the vergers or contact helena.tarrant@smitf.org. Alastair’s final Sunday will be 24 June.

Club Wednesday 4 July: we meet for lunch after the 1pm Choral Eucharist followed by a talk by the St Martin’s Trust, who will tell us how they are raising funds to support the life and future ministry of St Martin’s.

St Martin’s at Pride Saturday 7 July. St Martin’s members and friends will once again be marching to represent our parish in the annual LGBTQI Pride Parade. Our taking part in the march witnesses to our church as a sign of hope and a place of welcome to people of all genders and orientations. We will meet for prayers in St Martin-in-the-Fields at 10am before heading off to join other Christians and religious contingents.
