Today/Theology Group/Sunday 7 April, 12-1pm, Austen Williams Room. Theology Group is an opportunity to reflect theologically on issues of the day and questions of forever with Revd Dr Sam Wells. All are welcome. Subsequent dates are 19 May and 16 June.

Today/Lent Oasis, Sunday 7 April, 1.30-4.00pm, George Richards and Austen Williams Rooms. This ‘Oasis’ time includes quiet scripture reflection, prayer and practical art. Art materials are available for you to explore, play with colour and be creative through collage, painting, drawing or writing. All are very welcome. Explore approaches to deepening the spirituality of congregations including accompanied prayer, art, Godly Play, lay communities, open door retreats, spiritual direction, and more. Last Sunday/The amount raised for the Diocesan Lent Appeal last week was £946.82. Thank you for your generosity and support of the campaign to end Modern Day Slavery. St Martin’s, through the International Committee, is also sending funds to the Disasters Emergency Committee to support the relief work following Cyclone Idai which struck Malawi, Mozambique and Zimbabwe last month.

Next Sunday/Easter Flowers. There will a retiring collection for Easter flowers at the end of the 10am service next week. Any volunteers for arranging the flowers would be very welcome. Volunteers are also needed to prepare the church and help with the flowers on Easter, Saturday 21 April from 9.30am in church.

Next Sunday/Palm Sunday 14 April, 9.45am/10am. Next Sunday we mark the beginning of Holy Week with a Palm Sunday procession, led by a donkey, with the Regent Hall Band and the Choir of St Martin-in-the-Fields. We meet at the steps behind Admiralty Arch near the British Council building where the procession begins at 9.45am. For those who are not joining the procession the service in church begins as usual at 10am, when we greet the arrival of the procession and read the Passion Gospel.

Next Sunday/Drawing Group/Sunday 14 April, 12-2.00pm, Glass Box. Each month for two hours the drawing club meets and draws together. The aim of this group is to encourage and practice together. Materials, objects to draw and step-by-step help for those beginners who would like it are all provided. So, no previous experience is necessary and all are welcome.

Next Sunday/Confirmation Preparation/Sunday 14 April, 12.15-1.15pm, Benenson Room. Adult confirmation classes continue on 14 April, 5, 12, 19 and 28 May. The Confirmation service will be on Wednesday 29 May at 6.30pm with the Bishop of London, Sarah Mullally.

PCC and Churchwarden Elections. At the Annual Meeting of Parishioners and Annual Parochial Church Meeting on Sunday 28 April this year there will be elections for churchwardens (who are elected for one year, up to a maximum of six) and PCC members (who are elected for three years, renewable once). There are five vacancies for PCC members. If you are interested in standing as a churchwarden or as a PCC member, please speak to the vicar or the current churchwardens.

Pastoral Assistants (Sheppard Scholars). We are looking for two enthusiastic Sheppard Scholars (new Pastoral Assistant scheme) to support new and refreshed mission and ministry projects at St Martin’s and with HeartEdge. Both roles will take part in the worshipping life of St Martin’s, with the opportunity to share the life of the Nazareth Community. This is an exciting and inspirational year-long programme beginning in September and offering two people a unique chance to learn and grow with us. Full details can be found on www.smitf.org. Leaves for Healing is a two-part exhibition organised by the artists’ and craftspersons’ group at St Martin-in-the-Fields. During Lent the exhibition runs from 6 March-20 April and in Eastertide from 21 April-9 June.

Coming Up/Pilgrimage from London to Canterbury/24-27 May 2019. The Pilgrimage is a major fundraising event for the Connection at St. Martin’s to support its work, and also a spiritual journey for all. It is now open for registrations. You can participate as a walker, or a helper (driving, catering, helping with venue set-up and more). Save the Date: Parish Away Day. This year’s Parish Away Day will be held on Saturday 13 July, for all the parish including C-Club. All are welcome for an inspirational day of reflection and fun to be held at the Focolare Centre in Welwyn Garden City.
Meditation Group meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 6.30pm in the DSC. All are welcome.
